About the Event. Seven years ago, Gordon Elliott returned from a trip to Northern Cambodia and teamed up with his friend Philip Mactaggart to help a few, less-fortunate rural communities gain access to a full education. With the help of the Tomato War and the community of Millbrook, we’ve accomplished that and much more. The generosity of the Millbrook community has enabled over 350 rural students to enter a full 12-year education program through our four schools. With the recent completion of our new boarding school campus in Siem Reap, even more of our students now have access to a higher education and a pathway to a better life.
Our Goal. Last year we achieved our goal of raising the necessary funds to complete the last phase of construction at our Siem Reap Campus providing housing for 100 students, thanks to the generosity of all who attended and donated to Tomato War Millbrook. This year our goal is to establish a college tuition and vocational fund for our first high school graduating class and the hundreds of future graduates currently under our care. In addition, Millbrook Early Childhood Education Center (MECEC) Scholarship Fund will once again be a beneficiary of our event this year as well. MECEC was founded to provide local families access to a high-quality preschool program regardless of means. This outstanding preschool is committed to helping children develop a love of learning and team working skills which will serve them well for years to come. 100% of proceeds raised from ticket sales and our live auction will be donated to our beneficiaries as event costs are entirely paid for by the host. Good people, great fun, and a worthy cause – that’s what the Millbrook Tomato War is all about. Now let’s throw some tomatoes!See what your support has accomplished over the past 5 years!
